"A fast-paced, pulse-pounding financial thriller that Sheldon Siegel fans will love." - BestThrillers.com

After being accused of stealing 6 million dollars from his employer, global financial powerhouse CFK, then suspended by SEC attorney Frank Favara, Julian Maslow pilots his friend and Wall Street executive Gary Becker in a single-prop aircraft to a client meeting on Hilton Head. Now, a day later, he's sitting in the Beaufort Country drunk-tank, sober as a judge, trying to figure out when and how his slide down the pyramid to this place started.

In Manhattan, Favara is working hard to put Julian away, convinced of his guilt. While pressuring Marta Piatek, Julian's second in command, he finds evidence of her possible involvement in the crime. In Connecticut, Julian's wife Christine is left behind with their two kids, baffled that her husband would fly off to play golf at a time like this. And when her brother Dan whispers in her ear about the financial consequences to her family if Julian goes to prison, she demands answers and access. But what does Dan really want from the situation?

Holding Patterns is a literary financial crime thriller that follows Julian as he questions what is truly essential in his life, and struggles to break from the patterns that prevent him from attaining them.

Chesterton’s arresting debut opens on a dramatic note with SEC investigator Frank Favara accusing Manhattan investment banker Julian Maslow of diverting $6 million from his clients’ accounts to an account in the Cayman Islands. Though Favara’s inquiry is still in its early stages, he has enough evidence against Maslow to issue his bank a Wells Notice, an SEC notification to a financial institution that one of their employees may have violated securities law. Maslow’s employer, CFK Bank, places him on leave and cuts off his access to his office. Maslow maintains his innocence to his wife, Chrissie, but she’s disturbed when he decides to take advantage of CFK’s surprising largesse and use a company plane to fly to South Carolina to play golf with a colleague,, rather than spend time with her and their kids. The probe continues in his absence, escalating to execution of a search warrant at the Maslow home, further alarming Chrissie. Chesterton, who works in finance for a global bank, keeps readers guessing as to his protagonist’s culpability. Even without a violent crime at its heart, the story line maintains interest and suspense throughout. Chesterton is off to a promising start.
